Hi, I’m Erin. I created this blog in 2014 as a way to pursue a life long dream of writing while proclaiming the Gospel, sharing the love of Christ from the mountaintops. Writing is still a deeply rooted passion of mine, but since 2014, this blog has grown and evolved alongside of me, and has become intricately intertwined with my teaching career.
I graduated from The University of Texas in 2015 with a degree in Elementary Education, and quickly accepted a teaching job after graduation. I didn’t always know that I wanted to be a teacher, but while student teaching under some of the greatest educators I have ever encountered, I knew that this was my calling.
I now teach fifth grade language arts and social studies at The University of Texas Elementary School, where I get live out my dream of inspiring students to pursue lives full of compassion and justice. My classroom focuses heavily on social justice and building a lifelong love of literature. While many posts on this blog relate to education and my classroom, my teaching blog is where I share lesson plans and resources.
My own journey to a relationship with Christ began when I was in high school, and since then, Christ has led me into a life of grace and adventure. A large part of this life of adventure was played out through my time in college as a Young Life Leader and my summers spent as a backpacking guide at Wilderness Ranch. Both ministries are so close to my heart, and you will find the stories and themes of these two experiences deeply woven into my life and my writing.
